Don't put your mobile battery in the storage compartment! ~In-flight handling will change from July 8th~

As smartphones, tablets, game consoles and other portable electronic devices become more popular, more people are carrying mobile battery packs. However, the lithium-ion batteries used in mobile battery packs can overheat or catch fire due to an internal short circuit caused by external impact or overcharging.
Currently, it is prohibited to put mobile batteries in checked baggage, and there are also restrictions on the number and size of carry-on items.
In this context, the following new rules will be established from July 8, 2025:

  • Do not store mobile batteries in the overhead compartments.
  • When charging portable electronic devices using a mobile battery or charging a mobile battery from the aircraft's power supply, always do so in a location where the charging status can be checked.
