Fukuoka Airport held the "Fukuoka Airport Instagram Photo Contest 2021" for one month from October​ ​1st to October​ ​31st, 2021.

This time, the theme was "Always close to your memories," and we asked people to share their memories of Fukuoka Airport with one photo, a title, and an anecdote. We received 187 submissions.

This is the first time that a photo contest at Fukuoka Airport will feature "Instagram posts."

The judging process was a trial and error process. Of course, the quality of the photo was the criterion for evaluation, but the application guidelines this time also required an additional "story of 150 characters or less." Reading the entry, the viewer's unique perspective and thoughts were conveyed, and I felt a different emotional movement than when I looked at the photo alone. The selection process involved accepting and tracing what was conveyed by each of the "photo" and "story." Going back and forth, in a spiral, I finally arrived at the realization that there is such a beautiful landscape around Fukuoka Airport (us). No matter how difficult the world is, there is always joy and kindness somewhere, right nearby. There are dreams and hopes. There are beloved neighbors... I hope that Fukuoka Airport will continue to be a hub for such memories and dramas.
