For the Deaf and Hearing-Impaired

We provide information on services available at Fukuoka Airport for passengers with hearing or speech impairments.

  • If you need assistance, please notify an Information Desk on the first floor (one each next to the North and South Arrival gates) and the Information Booth on the second floor. We have certified staff to assist passengers.

    In order to facilitate communication with hearing-impaired and foreign visitors, writing boards are available at the Information desks on the first floor (one each next to the North and South Arrivals). The location of the Information desk is shown in the red frame on the Terminal Map below.

    Assistance Dogs

    Assistance Dogs are allowed in the airport terminal and all facilities in the terminal. (Please note that normal pet dogs are not allowed in the terminal.) Please note that airline companies vary in terms of accompanying passengers and check-in procedures. Please contact your airline for more information.

    A dog-friendly toilet is located on the first floor of the Domestic Passenger Terminal Building near Information / North. (Please note that pet dogs are not allowed to use these toilets.)

    Equipment in the Toilet for Assistance Dogs

    A wash basin, a container, a shower for disposing of excrement, and a table for dogs (about 30-cm high) is set up to enable easy access for wheelchair users.

    The entrance is locked. If you press the intercom next to the door and say that you want to use it, it will be unlocked. The dog platform is about 30 cm high. Please be careful not to hit your dog's shins. If you do not know where or how to use the Toilet for Assistance Dogs, please ask the staff at Information / North.
    Please clean up after use. If you need help cleaning, please contact us using the intercom next to the door in the Toilet for Assistance Dogs. The door will be locked remotely, so you may leave the door unlocked when you leave.

    Emergency flashlight

    For the hearing-impaired, all the toilet booths, multi-purpose toilets, nursing rooms, and other private rooms are equipped with flashlights that will blink to alert you in case of an emergency.

    From the 1st floor to Security Checkpoints (2nd floor)

    After checking in on the first floor, you will be directed to the route to the security checkpoint on the second floor. There are three elevators located on the North, Center and South sides. There are two security checkpoints, North and South. Security checkpoint locations vary by plane, so please confirm this information when you check in, before proceeding.

    From Security Check to Boarding

    At the security checkpoint, there is a dedicated lane for customers who need assistance. Staff will assist you so you can proceed slowly and in comfort. After passing through the security checkpoint, priority seating spaces are provided before boarding. After passing through security checkpoints and until boarding, each airline has different measures to take. If you need assistance or would like to know the details of the service in advance, please contact the respective airline.

  • If you need assistance, please let us know at the General Information Center on the first floor or the Information desk on the third floor.

    The International Terminal Building has a dog-friendly restroom outside on the first floor (between the gates for "Arrivals 1" and "Arrivals 2" ). (Please note that pet dogs are not allowed to use these restrooms.)

    The entrance is unlocked during the business hours of the International Terminal Building. If you don't know where or how to use the restroom for Assistant Dogs, please ask the staff at the General Information Center on the 1st floor. Please clean up after use. If you need help cleaning, please contact us using the intercom next to the door in the Toilet for Assistant Dogs. You may leave the door unlocked when you leave.

    From the 1st floor to Departures (3rd floor)

    This is a guide to the check-in counters of each airline on the third floor and the route to the departure gate. Please check here for the routes to the first floor from various modes of transportation. Passengers who do not need to go to the 1st floor are advised to go directly to the 3rd floor. Please use the elevator at the International Central Entrance on the 1st floor or the escalator in the center to go to the 3rd floor. Check in at Check-in Counters (A to M). Check-in counter locations vary by airline, so please check your boarding pass. After checking in, please proceed to the Departure gate at the back.

    From Departures to Boarding

    Passengers will go through security and immigration. If you require assistance, there will be a priority lane to your right as you approach the departure gate. Please notify our staff and follow the instructions. After passing through security checkpoints and until boarding, each airline offers different services. If you need assistance or would like to know the service details in advance, please contact your airline.
